As you know by now, SERFF is celebrating its 10-year anniversary! In January we invited you to show your "SERFF Spirit" and submit an entry to our "Show Us Your SERFF" contest. We thought it only fitting to share the SERFF Spirit with everyone, so we decided to feature a new entry each month!

Have you heard? There are currently 19 states that have made it official - they want you to SERFF or file electronically!

In addition to mandating SERFF, Iowa, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Minnesota, and South Dakota require that all state filing fees be paid via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer). Beginning 1/1/09, Massachusetts and West Virginia will mandate EFT. Vermont will mandate EFT effective 3/1/09 and Oklahoma will mandate EFT on 7/14/09.

Maryland has mandated EFT payments for all SERFF filings. Life & Health filings effective 8/1/08 and Property & Casualty filings effective 10/1/08.

What does this mean to you? If you are not already SERFF and EFT licensed, you need to get licensed as quickly as possible!
